A long history
Growing up in the 50’s, I grew accustomed to a certain music style and then cut my music ears on country in the 60’s. Johnny Cash, Buck Owens , Loretta lynn, and others of that style became ingrained in me.
Unfortunately there were no musical instruments in our home. I remember in the first grade when my teacher tried to get me to play the triangle, I refused. Just too bashful I guess. My brother brought home a guitar for a short while but it was hands off.
Fast forward to 4 years ago. Somewhere I picked up a harmonica and started messing around with it for my dogs entertainment. He and I sitting on the couch howling. My baby sister happened to see us one time and when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer she asked if i would play at her funeral. What could I say other than yes. Thank you for the wonderful gift Molly
As I got a little better I encouraged my wife to find an instrument so she could play along with me. 14 months ago she selected a ukulele and started to learn her way around on it. One fast learner. She is in the crochet category and I am still in the simple knitting stage. The nice thing about it though, is that I love to write lyrics, and she is able to put the music to them.
The problem with ukulele players is that they contract the dreaded UAS. Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome. She soon had 6 of them and storing them was becoming an issue. Being a lifelong woodworker she asked for a music stand, and then a storage rack, and “Oh by the way” I’m getting a keyboard and don’t want it out all the time.
The items you see on our website are my concepts of what she was looking for. As people saw them I got more requests so we decided to offer them here.
Look them over and let me know what you think. Also if you have ideas for related items let me know.
